Car Park

Parking at the hall

The hall car park has space for approximately 30 vehicles.

On dark nights additional car park lighting can be switched on from the lighting panel in the foyer.

All vehicles are left at the owner’s risk

The car park is automatically booked for your event when the main hall is booked, but it may be booked separately. See below:

                                                                         An important notice

Please note: this facility is not and has never been a public car park, it is owned and maintained by the Welshampton and Lyneal Parish Hall Trust for the use of those hiring / visiting the hall or using its facilities (e.g. the tennis court).

Historically the hall had very few daytime bookings resulting in a general assumption that it is ok to leave vehicles parked* at the hall (sometimes all day) even when not using its facilities. This had always been tolerated which has lead to the car park being mentioned in pamphlets and on websites as suitable parking for walkers etc. Unfortunately, in more recent times this has led to incidences of legitimate (paying) hall users not having full access to the car park.

But it’s not all bad news

It is not the intention of the trustees to deny access to the carpark for such use by the wider community so the car park can be booked as an independent item on the booking system here

Bookings of the car park alone are free, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • There is no existing hall booking pending on the date and times requested
  • All vehicles must to be parked in a sensible fashion and not blocking access to the hall facilities such as the recycling bin and the oil tank
  • Where possible it is recommended vehicles are parked on the side of the car park opposite (away from) the hall
  • All paying bookings will be given preference and your booking may have to be cancelled, sometimes at short notice, although we will endeavour to avoid this if at all possible
